About Us

Founded in 2023 by Tony of TD Diving,

Buy A Brick is a non-profit initiative dedicated to restoring marine ecosystems along Cyprus’ coastline through the creation of artificial reefs. With decades of expertise in marine prospects and scuba diving,

Tony has pioneered this project to provide new habitats for marine life, successfully attracting native species like triggerfish, which are now thriving in greater numbers. His innovative approach began with placing bricks and objects in the ocean, carefully observing their impact, and has since grown into a mission to transform Cyprus’ coastal waters into vibrant ecosystems.

In collaboration with Tony, Jerry of Trex Diving brings his experience as the founder of a commercial diving company to scale Buy A Brick’s vision. Together, we are committed to expanding artificial reef projects across Cyprus’ Marine Protected Areas, including Paralimni, Ayia Napa, Larnaca, Amathounta, Dasoudi, and Geroskipou.

By securing government support, private funding, and strategic marketing campaigns, we aim to elevate Buy A Brick into an internationally recognized initiative that fosters marine biodiversity and sustainable tourism.

Our mission is to create thriving underwater habitats that support diverse marine species while engaging communities, divers, and conservationists worldwide.

Our seas face unprecedented challenges—overfishing, pollution, and climate change have diminished the biodiversity of Cyprus’ coastal waters. Yet, hope is rising.

What Your Donation Funds

Building artificial reefs is a labor of love and precision, requiring specialized equipment, materials, and expertise. Here’s how your contribution will make a difference:

Eco-Friendly Reef Modules ($50,000): Each reef module, made from sustainable concrete or clay, costs approximately $500 to produce and deploy. To establish a single thriving reef site, we need 100 modules, totaling $50,000 per site. These structures create habitats that attract fish, corals, and other marine life, fostering biodiversity.
Underwater Monitoring Equipment ($20,000): To ensure our reefs succeed, we use underwater drones and sensors to track marine growth and species diversity. A single autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) costs $15,000, and additional monitoring tools (e.g., cameras, data loggers) require $5,000 per site.
Deployment and Setup Costs ($30,000): Transporting materials, securing permits, and coordinating with dive teams and the Cyprus Department of Fisheries costs $30,000 per reef site. This includes logistics for safe and environmentally responsible installation.
Community and Eco-Tourism Programs ($10,000): We’re building educational dive tours and virtual experiences to engage communities and inspire conservation. This requires $10,000 for marketing, safety equipment, and partnerships with local dive shops.

Our Goal: To launch three new reef sites in 2025-2026, we need to raise $360,000. This will fund the equipment, materials, and setup for vibrant reefs that will transform Cyprus’ coastal ecosystems for generations.
